''In November 2023, 21-year-old (Mel), a passionate young Dutchman, came to Greenwoods with a brilliant idea: a pop-up dining experience focused on hearty winter stews. Greenwoods, known for supporting fresh talent, loved the idea. By night, their Keizersgracht location transformed into Blackwoods, a cozy evening restaurant celebrating traditional Dutch flavors.
The pop-up was a hit, bringing people together over delicious stews and warm vibes. Unfortunately, Mel had a personal medical emergency which forced Blackwoods to close near summer. But now, we're back—and here to stay!
Blackwoods is all about authentic Dutch dinners, comforting stews, and good company. Come and join us for an evening of tradition, taste, and fun!''

At Blackwoods, our story starts in Chef Jenice's kitchen, where decades of culinary expertise brought classic dishes like Coq au Vin and Moroccan-spiced stew to life. Our true pride, however, lies in our traditional Dutch mashed dishes, crafted from rare, time-honored recipes and locally sourced ingredients. After countless trials, we've created a menu that blends the Dutch heritage with heart, offering dishes that feel both familiar and extraordinary.
